I'm blogging about the Zest trail as promised now, but due to unforseen circumstances, like darryl, i can't post the pictures. But i'll post one nice photo.
So basically i, darryl and zi han (notice the absence of the NPCC boys and chang yang?) spent the whole night of 1st feb (wednesday) doing research and last minute preparations for the zest trail. We only 'realised' that the zesThing was the next day on that day, hence the eleven-hour scramble. Darryl, ever the desinger, did the nice heading while i did research on SingTel (read: Cut and Paste from wikipedia and www.singtel.com). we we working hard till the wee hours of the morning -- 1 AM.
The next day, 2 Feb, we got to leave school early. And that meant leaving during recess. We made a beeline for the Staff Work Room, where endless flow of colour inks for printers exist, to print the banners and stuff. we used recycled paper which was actually unwanted testimonials from last year. There was one comment about the testimonial that went," Too Long!! Can make shorter?" Point is: SAVE THE EARTH. TREES ARE DYING! YOU ARE KILLING YOUR WORLD! Pardon me, i'm just doing my part as a geography student. :) By the way, all of the representatives for the Zest trail from 4F are geog core people. [read: cool people]
After getting everything done, with the NPCC boys still nowhere in sight, we took a cab down to Ngee Ann Poly. Darryl paid for the cab fare thinking that the teachers will reimburse him. I doubt so, but don't tell him. At least not yet. Back to story, darryl started taking photos with his phone in a frenzy, trees, buildings, roads, rivers and even chang yang was made subject of his fetish. But, on the account that im taking the zest photos from him, TAKING LOTS OF PHOTOS IS A COOL THING.
So we reached NP (ngee ann poly) early but we went to eat at the canteen (what happened to MacDonald's? ask LCY.) So in the end we were late. Till this point, not even a shadow of the NPCC musketeers could be seen. They were late. Horribly late. Forty-five minutes late. And they alighted at Singapore institute of management instead of NP. So much for orienteering activities. *shrugs* I made them take a taxi from SIm to NP. Cost them $2.40. SERVES THEM RIGHT!
Worse thing is, we asked them to buy darkbrown and black vanguard sheet, they bought PINK and black. Coulourblind? I knew jia wei is, but i didn't realise the rest of the NPCC people also suffer from that disability. And did i mention that they were horribly late?
So we desperately decorated our board with whatever we had. the NP coordinators were trying to coax the NPCC peeps to take off theirs shirts to put on the board. Ofcourse they didn't, a cool 200++ people would have nightmares!!
We managed to finish the decoration in the nick of time. Next up was the stimulation game. We made it to top three once but then slided into oblivion (16th place) with a total worth of $8.2 million. guess who was overall champs for that game? Serangoon garden Sec. Puzzled? My mom's from that school so i perfectly understand. Oh and the answers for Fun Quiz 1 is BAACCDD. :)
Then it all ended and we went to the Welcome area to get a copy of Lime free! The only catch is that you have to fill in this survey form and that you get SEPT 2005 ISSUE! Bah-jet. then were went into a phototaking frenzy again and got some really nice photos. Like the one below. Conceptualized by me okay!

Zi han is Global Smart without the smart, darryl is Attitude and Desmond has passion. So true.
