Chairman Mao dies tomorrow in 1976.
ohh the tragedy.
Yes, he may be communist but that doesnt mean he didnt contribute nothing to the world.
I mean if Hitler can get nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize [but ofcourse got de-nominated that same year] maybe Mao should get nominated for something too. Maybe the Pulitzer Prize?
[for the clueless: Think Red Book.]
Maybe not.
But his policies did help China become what it is today - a developing maniac. His agarian reforms saw peasants 're-educating' the landowners and raising the standard of living of the poor. He could have been part of Making Poverty History. Or at least try to...
Then his uber cute! social policies. [i love this part]
There was the New Socialist Man. [mao would have been a great marketing executive, i reckon]

5 loves:
Love Fatherland
[national education],
Love People
[Power to the people!],
Love Science
[Chem, Physics and Bio],
Love Labour
[Nil sine labore]
and most of all
Love Public Property.
[i think we totally need this, seeing how vandalism has chiselled the beautiful interior of the bus i took home yesterday.]
Where is the love, ya'll?
[for other cute things like this go look for the 5 Olds, the 4 Pests etc.]
And also, he elevated the status of women in China by abolishing arranged marriages and foot binding. [You know how many years it would have taken the UN to accomplish such a major humanitarian feat? no pun intended.]
But ofcourse we all make mistakes and unfortunately they didnt spare Mao either.
But how would a politician know that steel from backyard furnaces are useless?
Thats why we embrace science, you see. Now we know.
But he was clever. After that Great Leap FAUX PAS, he quit. But it was all part of his plan.
He put himself out of power, then embarked on the Cultural Revolution and started telling that one billion population [okay maybe not that many last time, but you never know..] to rebel against authority. Revolt against everyone with power. And you see, at that time he didnt have power. Brilliant isnt it?
Better yet, he blamed the capitalist [cos they took over for a few seconds] for the deep shit China was in. [read: Great Leap Forward]
This man is good.
I mean clever, shrewd, astute and other superlatives you can think of.
But too bad communism lost. Wrong bet, mister.
So tomorrow we remember that guy who was perpetually a teenager. All that rebellion and teen angst. He never grows up, like Peter Pan. Dont believe? See him at tienanmen square. Didnt age one bit.
P/s See. now you can do that China Under Mao seq if it comes out next week! =P
